This winter has been a little trying with the flu. This is the first time I got it and it sidelined me for about 10 days. It took another week for me to regain my strength. Thankfully I feel much better and am back at it.
I wanted to warm up the look of my bookshelves upstairs overlooking my entryway. They were very plain and boring and filled with paperback books. Not very warm and contributed nothing to my farmhouse decor.
I watch all the DIY home shows on TV and I really liked the look of exposed brick in old farmhouses and vintage homes. Well there is no way I was going to hire a bricklayer, and goodness knows I am fully aware of my limits, and bricklaying is not in my skill set. I decided on the next best thing and started looking at natural brick looking wallpaper. I found the best selection and price at http://www.wayfair.com. I only needed one roll because my area only measured 4 feet wide x 8 feet tall. This particular roll was only around $20.00.
I did have to buy paste at the local Sherwin Williams. That cost $11.69 for 1 quart. I did not use the whole quart, only about half. It was super easy to apply. I finished in about 2 hours with a little help from my husband.
. I absolutely love the transformation! This was so simple and inexpensive to do. It completely changes the look when you walk in my front door and up the stairs.
